ABSTRACT

Power dissipation is the predominant issue in contemporary System-on-chip design. Multiple supply voltage (MSV) is a proficient technique that escort to reduction in both static and dynamic power consumption. Voltage assignment is a preliminary tread in MSV design. In this paper, a novel FuzzyMinProduct voltage assignment method is proposed for efficient assignment of voltages in the modules. This algorithm unveils the optimum operating voltage for the entire modules of the benchmarks circuit. Voltage assignment is performed by creating voltage islands within MSV-driven framework. Simulations are performed for 8-point Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)and 64-point Feed-Forward Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) circuits via Cadence digital encounter. These circuits are analyzed owing to proximity in number of modules with GSRC benchmarks n10 and n30. Experimentalresultsdemonstratethattheproposedalgorithmadequatelydiminishthetotalpowerconsumption in the chip in addition to power saving percentage of 26.54% after MSV design. Compared to the preceding reported techniques intended algorithm gives an average runtime of 0.83s.
